Amidst the ongoing drama in the ruling party, All Progressive Congress, APC, President Muhammadu Buhari and other party members have been dealt a heavy blow as one of them has allegedly dumped the party.

Threatened by criticisms of poor performance, Governor Yahaya Bello due to the uncertainty that beclouds his ambition for a second term is set to dump the party for Accord party.


According to reports, it was gathered that Bello who is finding it difficult securing a governorship ticket in APC has been petitioned by certain groups, individuals and even members of his party before the National Working Committee of APC of bad administration.

Reports also state that that APC flags hosted in the premises of government house including the one hosted at the main entrance gate to Lugard House have been removed.

Sources also claim that the secretariat of the Accord party was allegedly renovated by the governor. The party was his alternative in 2015 when he lost the APC governorship primaries to late Prince Abubakar Audu.

Sources have also reveled that Bello disclosed some of his closest ally in his cabinet that some cabal in Aso Rock advised him to move to another party since forces were against him for the ticket. They have also pledged their support if he contests the governorship election in another party.

One of the names mentioned by the source is Samuel Otom, Benue State Governor who has a good relationship with Yahaya Bello. He allegedly advised Bello to dump APC for another party so that he can contest for the November 2 governorship election.
